Lee Iacocoa Loses Lifelong Perks

Former Chrysler chairman Lee Iacocca is famous for his television commercial where he looks into the camera and says, “If you can find a better car buy it.” I guess everybody took his advice.

Senator John Cornyn

Senator John Cornyn, the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee said recent comments from conservative commentators Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich painting Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor as a racist were terrible. Uh, oh! Mr. Cornyn’s bound to be booted out the Republican Party soon.

Marijuana In Illinois

According to the news report I saw this morning Illinois is one step closer to approving marijuana for medicinal purposes but they keep showing people doing bong hits whenever they talk about it.

South Korea Protest North Korea’s Nuclear Test

People in South Korea demonstrate in protest against their wayward neighbor to their north. North Korea defies the world and tested another nuclear bomb. And while the entire world is outraged, nobody is talking about attacking North Korea the way Israel is constantly threatening to attack Iran.

Tyruss Toribio

Three year old Tyruss “Ty” Toribio was suffocated to death by his mother and buried in a sandbox because she did not want him to grow up in a world that didn’t care about him. Didn’t the mother care about him? Was that not enough to spare his life?

Iranian Test Fired Missile

This poor quality photo from a video shows an Iranian Sejil 2 missile being launched. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says that a nuclear armed Iran will spark an arms race. What about a nuclear armed Israel?

Obama At Notre Dame

President Barack Obama delivers the commencement speech during the 2009 graduation ceremony at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.  He made the wise choice to carefully avoid controversy unlike the time he went to speak directly to the black community where he threw caution to the wind and talked about the unsubstantiated race dividing issue of how the irresponsibility of black men as the main reason the black community is struggling.

Gas Going Up Again

Gas is creeping up again. In the past couple weeks gas has gone up more than thirty cents. Just like old times. Somebody sees an opportunity to jack up prices, damn the rest of the economy.

Automakers Cut Dealers

GM says it will notify 1,100 dealers that their franchise agreements will not be renewed. The cuts come a day after Chrysler LLC told 800 of its dealers that their services are no longer needed. Too many dealerships for too few sales. Since automobile dealerships abandoned black communities a long time ago I seriously doubt if there is any real impact to the black community.

KFC Coupons

It appears a lot of people got upset about Oprah Winfrey’s KFC coupon offer. I saw a guy in a business suit complaining he couldn’t get his free chicken during his lunch hour. Dude could’ve pulled four dollars out of his wallet and go across the street to Popeye’s.

Bristol Palin Advocates Abstinence

Bristol Palin, arguably the nation’s best known unwed teen mother, has embarked on a tour to argue that abstinence is a good way for teens to avoid unwanted pregnancy. Bristol Palin is to abstinence like Rush Limbaugh is to Weight Watchers.

President Obama said that Jack Kemp, who just died from cancer, understood that divisions involving race and class stood in the way of the country’s common goals. I wonder what Mr. Kemp did to help erase those divisions.
