Lipitor Loses Patent Protection
Lipitor, the number one cholesterol reducing drug, loses its patent protection today and its owner, Pfizer, is now offering deep discounts to make it as cheap as the generics that are about to hit the market in an attempt to protect market share and profits. If they wanted to protect their market share they should’ve reduced the price some time ago instead of waiting until the last minute.

Accord to Reuters, new claims for jobless benefits hit a seven-month low last week, while permits for future home construction rebounded strongly last month, bolstering views the economy was gaining traction.
