Forgive if this question is overflowing with ignorance but does Halloween coincide with an Ifa holiday? Or is there no such thing as a “holiday” in the Ifa faith?
Thanks for the question Dark Frosty,
But as far as I know there are no holidays in Ifa! Other than birthdays and personal anniversaries I don’t know too many Ifa holidays. But please remember I’m no authority when it comes to “official” happenings in Ifa.
Peace
It’s a wonderful time to sweeten our lives by offering pumpkins filled with caramels and sweetcakes, oranges and honey not only to our ancestors ,but to that sweet lady Oshun, and ,dont forget to also leave some coins ,nickles or quarters .
Interesting take on Halloween! I’m glad to know of it now, I got a baby on the way and its a lot easier to integrate African sensibilities into Babylon celebrations than isolating your kids. Thanks!!
