In fact its not like this at all. During Bob’s great grand parents time, Italians were the worst off.
Today, Asians in the USA earn more on a GDP basis than whites. Or several ethnic groups earn more on a GDP basis than blacks? How can this be true? This comic is leftist bigotry and I hope you see this.
According to statistics from the book, Why the Left hates America, in 1967, 13% of college students were African-American, now more than 30% are African-American. No other ethnic group has experienced such a dramatic rise in college enrollment over the same period. That and African Americans have benefited economically as well and have had the fastest economic growth for any minority group in the USA for over 30 years. In inflation adjusted terms, African Americans earning GDP has more than doubled since 1970. Their income gap is increasing, education is increasing, and blacks in the US are more well off anywhere else in the world. There is no country in the world where blacks find more success than the USA.
How can you tell me whites are responsible for all this? That whites are evil and oppressing when Africans are still be enslaved by people in the Middle East? Please tell me how for anyone who reads this.

Thanks for the feedback Wesley,
And for the laughs! African Americans are now 30% of all college students? Forgive my skepticism but where exactly can I find this statistic? Surely this book is referencing somebody else’s work. Or could you simply give just the name of the study the statistic is being lifted from. The black community only makes up 12% of the United States population. So either white people have decided not to go to school or black people are making a serious run on colleges.
And even if 30% of black school attendees are going to school, why does unemployment in the black community remain twice that of the dominant’s community? A lot of people, such as yourself, like to say that blacks in America have it better here than blacks in any other part of the world. That might be true. But that doesn’t dismiss the fact that America is neck deep in racial disparity. By every social measure, with the possible exception of blacks going to college, the black community suffer at the crappy end of any comparison to its white community counterpart. According to Devah Pager in the CNN documentary Black In America by Soledad O’Brien, black men with an associate degree and no criminal record are less likely to be called back for a job interview than a white man with no degree and a criminal record. So while black people may be attending college at never before seen rates, the number of educated but unemployed black people must be skyrocketing.
And black people are being enslaved in the Middle East? This is news to me. Who owns black people in the Middle East? Will you please elaborate on this claim. And your supposition that Italians had it worse is a true gem of unsubstantiated rhetoric. How many Italians were lynched simply for being Italian? How many Italians were kidnapped from Italy in chains and forced to toil in fields without a dime for compensation? Where is the rhetoric that Italians here have it better than Italians anywhere else in the world?
As someone who looks like their ancestry is the standard European track (with a few features that break from this mold) I feel that the message of this comic cannot be generalized. My great-grandfather and namesake was a gypsy in Kansas. Two of my great-grandmothers were Cherokee. The Caucasian ancestry that I do have is divided amongst the Mennonites and the Quakers, two groups who were persecuted for their religious beliefs. There are points in my ancestry were racism has benefited my ancestors. More often it has been harmful. I believe that racism is inherently harmful to society, but I do not believe that individuals should be punished for the crimes of their fore-fathers. I believe that as racism has and still does make it so that certain individuals are at social and economic disadvantage society as a whole needs to bridge the gap.

Thanks for the feedback Hagen,
No one is saying than only specific individuals need to help bridge the gap. However, because of the overwhelming success of our institutionalized racism and its effectiveness at keeping the black community in its secondary status, some of us are more capable of building that bridge than others. And for people who have benefited from generations of racism to all of a sudden believe that they have no social responsibility to undoing the damage that has been done.
By now everybody has heard that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin using her hand for notes so she could remember her core issues during an interview. Chances are her bracelet actually helps her remember her name.
Yea, this is great!!!! I just put this up over at my blog too.
On behalf of Mr. Deutsch thanks for the feedback.
Mr. Deutsch has a way of putting it out there so that even a simpleton can understand how the white privilege works.
Peace
The open minded will get it; the hard core right won’t.
Thanks; I’ll definitely comment on this.
This really sums up white privilege, good find on this one.
Thanks!
