Reverse Discrimination Is Bogus

Reverse Discrimination Bogus

If someone were to ask me for the definition of reverse discrimination I would have said that reverse discrimination was when a white person goes to apply for a job or is bypassed for promotion at a company or applies to go to a school that is owned by black people or that is predominantly and overwhelmingly black, and refuses to allow white people to join despite their qualifications, talent, education, or experience. Reverse discrimination would be the opposite of discrimination which is when white people prevent black people from participating fairly in the employment market or the education environment.

But reverse discrimination is actually when a company or school that is predominantly white and takes it upon itself to diversify its environment by taking the steps necessary to recruit a more racially diverse student or employment population and other white people feel cheated or like they’ve been grievously injured because they did not get in. Never mind the fact that the institution could already be ninety nine percent white. If the organization does anything as dastardly as to try to increase that one percent minority population to something as outrageous as two percent and some white person didn’t get in then what we have here is a clear case of reverse discrimination.

Let the black person make a charge that they may have been the victim of discrimination and there is a great deal of skepticism for his or her claim. The assumption most people with a white mindset make is that the black person is being overly sensitive or is simply trying to make trouble without any foundation. They black people’s claim of discrimination is minimized with the claim that black people are simply playing the race card. Black people are rarely the most qualified individual for any given opportunity so they are regularly given an overwhelming task of proving their claim. Black people are ridiculed for allowing themselves to feel victimized. Black people are just looking for a pity party and would do well to lift themselves by their own boot strap.

On the flip side of the coin, let a white person claim that they are the victim of reverse discrimination and there is a great deal of sympathy for their claim. A lot of people with a white mindset can understand and identify with the white person who feels victimized. The white victim is not so quickly dismissed as being bitter for getting passed over for a position that they were less than the best candidate for. White people are often assumed to be the better candidate for an opportunity when compared to a black person and so the burden of proof isn’t much of a burden at all. White people are always being kicked to the curb in order for some institution to support or promote lesser qualified black people. Black people hardly ever lift themselves up by their boot strap and are always looking for a handout.

Ironically, the white person’s claim of discrimination is never ever made against a company with a history of discriminating against white people. In fact, the white person who claims to be discriminated against is usually against a company that is doing its best to reverse its traditional neglect of the ethnic community. But such a move is obviously strongly disapproved by the people, black and white, who would do anything to keep the status quo that favors white privilege and black subjugation.

When a black person makes a claim of racial discrimination it is usually against a company that has demonstrated a history of neglecting the black community. A company or institution that is void of black people or one where the black population is so poorly represented that discrimination is apparent if someone made the choice to recognize it for what it truly was.

But when the white person makes a claim of discrimination he or she is actually saying the company or institution is guilty of keeping a single white individual from joining when the company or institution has a strong history of support for the white community. This discrimination that the white person is claiming is not a form of discrimination that continues to perpetuate the subjugation of an entire race of people. This is the type of discrimination that tries to prevent the proliferation of racial diversity. Racial diversity runs absolutely contrary to white privilege. And a white dominated culture must protect their elevated status at all cost.

Fictitious horrors like reverse discrimination have about as much merit as one of America’s billionaire CEOs filing for welfare. It happens on a regular basis and we condone it. In order for our society to be absolutely fair the people with all the money should have the same opportunity to file for section eight as the people with no money at all. Fairness is top priority in America’s perpetual pursuit of absolute equality without ever doing anything that is even remotely equal.

  1. I only have to say, BrotherP, is that those Bbllionaires do get welfare, on a corporate level. They couldn’t get to be billionaires without somebodies help.

  2. Bravo to you. This is a very too the point commentary about a situation that is laughable at best. You are right that when a white person files for reverse discrimination the place they wanted to get into is always predominantly white. I could see if they were at Smitty’s automotive where they have a history of only hiring blacks and this white guy has top qualifications and is passed over for some trainee with no experience. Yet, that is never the case. The cases seem to be “hey you didn’t let me in to this all white business and that you took that black guy. We know he isn’t as qualified as me.” They have no proof of this, just that he is black right?

Thanks for bringing this stupid yet all too real phony charge out in the light. Maybe some of the people who are constantly seeing “reverse racism” will read this and see just how unfounded this is. This rates right up there with the reverse murder by the state on murderers.

    Thanks

  4. “Reverse discrimination” should be defined as being extra nice to person because of that person’s race, sex, etc… A person could be discriminated against or “reverse discriminated” for. Skin color should not play a part in separating one from the other. I’ve been passed over for jobs in which I was, by far the most qualified applicant, for many reasons that had nothing to do with the job itself. Like, the other guy had a family to support or he was the bosses son. I would call both of these cases of discrimination against me and “reverse discrimination” for the other guy. Maybe I’m biased.

  5. Thanks for the feedback nomo!

Skin color shouldn’t play a part at all. But somehow, when we take skin color into consideration as to who is getting employed, the vast majority of people who benefit from discrimination appear to be white. According to your definition white people seem to benefit a great deal from your version of reverse discrimination. I know when I went to apply for a job I had a family to support and yet it didn’t help me. Maybe I’m biased with you.

  6. A few point here need to be made.

1.) Reverse discrimination is “discrimination against a member of a social group generally regarded as dominant or privileged, e.g. in employment or admission to a university,” However, this is not the only definition, I can site.
2.) You have it backwards, being black, female, or any minority makes any claim of discrimination automatic and white parties are routinely prosecuted without evidence. It’s in the news all the time like the white college boys who had their lives ruined only to find out later there was never any evidence at all. I could write a book about this alone. The bottom line is the only group no one takes seriously is “white males” when they claim discrimination. I know from experience.
3.) The race card is a practice routinely used by blacks to get their way. Quite frankly it’s the easy way, a short cut. For a white guy it’s only used as a last resort. I am talking about in today’s world, not worn out examples from the 1950’s. I have seen many saying so when they though no one was listening, I have heard blacks and other groups talking about ways to use this to get unfair treatment just so they wouldn’t have to do the same workloads as other co-workers. So to say it’s a myth, is a load of ….. A white guy typically can’t use the race card to get better treatment. It’s actually harder for any white guy to make a claim than anyone else simply because, we are white.
4.) The facts are there are many tools used specifically to discriminate against whites; Equal opportunity and Affirmative action are prime examples. Many whites have been refused promotions and fired while people with lesser job experience have been hired or promoted to replace them over the years. Think back to the eighties and nineties for so many examples, it’s frightening. Anyone who has been in the work force for any good length of time, say twenty years or so can tell you these same things.
5.) Everyone I know (white) has been let go while blacks and other minorities were kept on. Often they took these jobs at a lower rate of pay but not because of management, but because they wanted to undercut the person ahead of them to get their jobs. Many pay scales, benefits, etc have been lost because the incoming workers didn’t care about these things. Now they are destroyed and many job positions are combined, unions ineffective, lost healthcare, etc are gone. This was done just because the incoming minority workers didn’t have the experience, knowledge, or plain common sense to protect the workers rights they trampled just to get their jobs.
6.) Our economic structure is severely crippled today and instead of being a world leader like we were twenty five or so years ago, we have fell behind many other countries. We eliminated good paying jobs, benefits, and our global standing just so people could take a shortcut to getting a good job, instead of earning a job by hard work. Instead of hiring based on experience today, we only hire based on race, sex, or age.
7.) You wonder why racism is a problem today? Because unlike what our founding fathers intended, equality for all, everything its tilted in the minorities favor because a few wanted a free ride.

  7. Ron,

Your joking right? White men can’t use the race card? Really? Is this the same thought that white privilege doesn’t exist? Because the last time I checked corporate America is a prime example of the race card being played by “white men”. You site cases where so called minorities are telling each other how to get around the system etc. I find that statement to be a load of crap! Why tell each other if we are doing it constantly like you say, not to mention why say it in front of some white guy who will surely run and tell?

I have worked and gone to school with loads of white guys who just by the color of their skin alone (since they didn’t have any experience) got job offers where NOT ONE minority did at all, even when they had the most experience. I guess those white guys played the race card.

Also, the ONE case you sited was about rape, NOT RACE! Site to me another case where a black person lied about discrimination to get ahead. White people have this fog in their brain where they think that all a black person has to say is discrimination and BINGO! Kaching, Kaching, let the cash register ring! Where it just isn’t so. You HAVE TO PROVE RACISM! You have to have specifics not just feelings or thoughts.

Where as just showing up with a white face gives you and other whites a head start in any company. So much for whites not playing the race card. I have been severely mistreated at plenty of jobs while being the only black person and so has many people I know. In fact I had contacted a lawyer in one case because of its severity and I was told I didn’t have enough proof and it wouldn’t go far. Well I guess you can’t just cry racism or foul and cash in!

Our economic structure is so crippled because of all the nepotism, cronyism and racism in the way of white privilege going on. We don’t hire the best person for the job, we are too busy giving jobs to our buddies kid or this person who has less experience but he looks the part. If only we did hire the best person for the job then maybe we would have an equal representation of ALL races, creeds, sexes and ages, and not this white male dominated one.

What the founding fathers intended had NOTHING to do with EQUALITY. Hell they never intended for blacks nor women to be in the picture so please wake up and smell the hypocrisy because it is on fire right now. Also, if everything was skewed in the minorities favor wouldn’t we be the dominating force in all facets of the work force and country? Yet, blacks have 50% higher unemployment rate, we make 87% of what our white counterpart makes, we are severely under represented in all facets of the business sector yet over represented in the service industry.

Because we are getting MORE than our fair share. What you say is so ridiculous that you don’t even need to look at any statistics to SEE that it isn’t true. We can look at any fortune 500 company you like and I know that they are not primarily run or staffed by these blacks who are getting a free ride. Where are all of these freeloaders? Working at Walmart or McDonald’s, because they certainly aren’t working in corporate America! Get Real!!!

    Thanks

  8. Ron,

I am sorry I left this out. But you talk about how all the whites were fired and the minorities were kept on and you think it was discrimination? Maybe the minorities were better workers, or is that just impossible? How about when all the minorities are let go and all the whites keep their jobs? Is that discrimination or is that because all the white people work harder?

Where exactly did this happen? If the minorities were hired at a lower pay, you actually want me to believe that they said “Mr. Employer, don’t pay me as much as the white guy I will gladly take less pay.” “So that one day I will be able to steal his job, but right now, it doesn’t matter if my family eats. I will wait until my opportunity to pounce on whitey’s job and BAM! I’m in baby!”

Then what, does he go and ask for a raise right after the white people are fired? How does that make sense? If anything the employer was racist and paid the minorities less because they thought less of them. Then when they had to let people go, why not let the higher paying people go and then keep the others and pay less. That makes more sense and is way more plausible.

    Thanks.

  9. A few points need to be made here.

1.) Reverse discrimination is “discrimination against a member of a social group generally regarded as dominant or privileged, e.g. in employment or admission to a university,” However, this is not the only definition, I can site.

    No problem here!

This is such bull. What white party has been prosecuted without any evidence? “[T]he white college boys who had their lives ruined only to find out later there was never any evidence at all.” Well you go ahead and write your book. I’m pretty sure it will appear in the fiction category at the bookstore. If white males were never taken seriously when they claim discrimination then why are cases of reverse discrimination so prolific these days? Why is the Supreme Court on record for making grossly flippant rulings such as the best way to combat racism is not to look at racism. As if we all can walk into an employment office, fill out an application, and no one will ever know the race of the application. Why should white male’s claim of discrimination be taken seriously when the vast majority of American institutions are controlled by white males?

White people are so focused on individual discrimination. A white male can win discrimination cases because he, a single white individual, feels that he has been discriminated against. Racial discrimination refers to a policy where an entire group of people must deal with racial preferences that negatively affect an entire community’s ability to achieve educational and economic opportunities.

Those white boys’ lives are ruined? I have every confidence that they will still find jobs and will still be able to use their family’s wealth to buy an education. Money has the affect to overcome a great deal of hurdles here in America. But on the flipside, how many black people, black neighborhoods, black communities have been affected by white people feeling entitled to keep black people out of their social circles? We are not talking about an individual, we are referring to an entire group of people.

If that was the case every major corporation in the country would be well represented with black executives, black managers, and black professionals at all levels of employment instead of just the janitorial services or the mailroom. Your contention is that all black people have to do is call the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and BAAM we’re in. “I am talking about in today’s world, not worn out examples from the 1950’s. I have seen many saying so when they [thought] no one was listening,” You must be some kind of stealth ninja to be able to infiltrate black people talking about how they’re going to take advantage of the system so much. But take a break from spying on black people long enough to turn on the television and watch the news for a second. Listen to white people in West Virginia and Kentucky saying things like, “I just can’t see a black man being president.” What they meant to say is, “I don’t want any black man to be president.” That’s from earlier this week and not from 1950. And let’s not forget Geraldine Ferraro’s comment about the only reason people are voting for Barack Obama is because he is black. If these are not examples of white people playing the race card I don’t know what is.

This is too ridiculous. How many white people have been passed over for a lesser qualified white person? But the only case that white people take note of is when they assume that a lesser qualified black person gets the opportunity. According to dominant culture logic, it is impossible for the black candidate to be the more qualified candidate simply because he or she is black. “Think back to the eighties and nineties for so many examples, it’s frightening.” What’s frightening is that white people like you continue to spread this propaganda without a shred of evidence to back it up. If this claim was remotely true black people would have a lower rate of unemployment, higher rates of pay than their white counterparts, and all we have to do is take a look at any American corporation to see that it isn’t true. But some people will go to their death pushing this crap they pull out their ass.

The propaganda is truly strong with this one.

Again, black unemployment rates run considerably higher than white unemployment rates. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, white unemployment runs about 4.1% while black unemployment runs about 8.3%. White men, the victims in your work of fiction, have an unemployment rate of about 4.2%. Black men, who according to the gospel by Ron can walk into any employment office and make a complaint to get a job, have an unemployment rate of about 9.1%. Don’t take my word for it. Please visit the Bureau of Labor Statistics by clicking here.

On average black people earn less than what white people earn. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, while the average weekly income of the white male, runs about $822, the average weekly income of the black male, who according to you claims is constantly being promoted at the expense of the more qualified white male, is about $604. The black male makes only seventy three percent the salary of his white counterpart. Or examined from another perspective, the average white male earns almost forty percent more than his black counterpart. Government supplied facts appear to be unraveling your propaganda. Please click here to see these statistics for yourself.

Our economic security has been weakened considerably because American corporations that are so focused on squeezing every penny out of an investment that these companies are willing to engage in a variety of policies that continue to cut into middle America’s ability to earn a living. Jobs are exported overseas to countries with a lower standard of living and less government regulation to make a far more profitable environment. Companies use every excuse to raise profits and lower expenses. The vast majority of these countries are controlled by white people. Speaking of short cuts, these companies are willing to take a short cut to maximum profitability by exporting jobs instead of investing in the work force. When the products and services are produced outside the country, that’s less people inside the country who can afford to take advantage of the products and services without borrowing money. As a nation, We have borrowed ourselves into a debt hole that we will take centuries to dig ourselves out of.

That’s a real oversimplification of the problems we are facing, but it should be sufficient compared to the racist muck of your comment. Like a good racist/sexist, you want to blame America’s problem on minorities and women. White people like you talk about black people taking short cuts when every comment you made is based on a short cut of a thought process, as if any thought was given to this crap at all.

7.) You wonder why racism is a problem today? Because unlike what our founding fathers intended, equality for all, everything its tilted in the minorities favor because a few wanted a free ride.

I beg your pardon. I don’t wonder why racism is a problem today, yesterday, or tomorrow. Racism is a problem because despite the reality of white privilege, or more accurately white male privilege, people like you will continue to operate out of a condition of fear and ignorance about things that you have not the slightest clue as to what you are talking about. Everything is tilted in minorities favor despite government statistics and realities all around us that say differently. You are a credit to your creed. It is people like you who give white people a bad name.

  12. Poor Ron,

Brotherpeacemaker be nice. Ron just lost his job to a bunch underpaid blacks. So this is why he feels that white men are the minority. He is probably down at the library right now writing to you because unfortunately he had to have all his frivolous niceties turned off like the internet.

I am sorry Ron that this has happened to you. I think a lot and I mean twice as many black men know what that feels like. I hope you get back on your feet soon. And if Brotherpeacemaker was right and you were in prison, I know that you will find a job soon. The stats show that white men with a felony prison record get called back for employment opportunities at a rate of 17% while black men with a 4 year college degree and NO prison record only got called back at 15% of the time.

So keep your head up. Whatever happened with you and obviously some black people you will be able to pull out of it. Also, again if you are or were in prison you just tell the prison guard where that bad black man touched you and get better soon.

    Thanks.

  14. Ron ,

You hit the nail on the head brother !!!

Here is something i found that might intrest you

GARY — The U.S. Department of Justice is accusing Gary officials of racial discrimination in the hiring of six emergency medical technicians in the fall of 2006.
Those technicians, all of whom were black, ranked below white applicants on a city hiring list. The white applicants were never hired, according to the federal lawsuit.

One black EMT applicant who was offered employment by the city didn’t even appear on that list, federal attorneys wrote.

“Federal law guarantees equal access to employment opportunities without regard to race,” Grace Chung Becker, acting assistant attorney general for the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, wrote in a statement.

So you found one case! Whoopty goddamn do! I wonder if this one case will ever equal to the institutionalized racism that has been used to subjugate the black community. Probably not. But that won’t keep a lot of white people from claiming it does. I stand by my statement. And further more…

      Wait…What’s this?

According to this newspaper article by nwi.com, Gary City Attorney Hamilton Carmouche said the black applicants were hired because they lived in Gary, not because of their race. The white applicants did not live in Gary, Carmouche said. The city never would consider race in hiring, Carmouche said.

I stand by my statement. Reverse discrimination is totally bogus.

  15. I agree BrotherP,

WOW! One whole case that WILL be thrown out since Gary has the right to require its applicants live within Gary. That is what the case is about.

The people are suing saying that they were higher on the list than the black people who were hired. Gary EMT is not part of the Fire Department and doesn’t use a list. Never the less the list that they are referring to all the applicants were within the top twelve.

So lets wait until a REAL case that shows REAL discrimination happens. Even in cases where there is a blatant case of discrimination people such as Bill and Ron will deny its presence all the while clinging to this fantasy case.

    Get real guys!

I have been a pesona who doens not see color but I judge peopl eon their merit and wrthyness. Unfortunately tat is not how life works. I feel there is bias on both parts and only a true understanding of both sides will prevail. This is a situation that will be talked or discussed about for millinieums. I hope that the black race can see past the white supremecy and most white people view everyone as equal. I dont want to put blame on anyone one but the african american race ahs been suprecessed for a while and an opening up of this suppresion is the only way to move forward in this economy.

I am a white guy who wants to understand something I have never been afflected with. I think we all can say that that we dont understand this plight but itsa valid point nonetheless.

Life is a revision of the sum of all of our relationships and our realization is what we have to live with

I hope some day that all this negativity will be forgotten and we all can move on to something special.

White and Black are a color that needs to live together and should be understood matter what?

  19. I just read the first page of this study. Already it shows that your previous argument is flawed:

This survey was apparently conducted in New York City only. This survey is not near widespread enough to give conclusive evidence for the entire country. I still believe this statistic is a little high. Also, I had better not read this simply to find out that the whites were in prison for non-violent crimes and the Latinos and Blacks were in for violent offenses. That type of dishonesty would piss me off. This seems like a good survery so far though (for NYC). It just shows how much further NYC society must move forward.

Also, why is this the only study you can find that shows these numbers? Scientific proof depends on reproducibility, especially with sociology, since that field’s results are notoriously unstable.

Hey, did you guys know that in some White anti-racist activist circles you guys would be considered backwards and racist for using the term “black” instead of “person of color”?

    • Jake,

“I had better not read this simply to find out that the whites where in prison for non-violent crimes and the Latinos and Blacks were in for violent offenses.”

Or what? You’re going to write a harsh comment?

According to the study, blacks weren’t even in prison. Obviously you’re not reading and comprehending the study well enough. And please show me where it is written that a scientific study has to be widespread to give conclusive evidence for the entire country? Show me a study that refutes this one and you might have an argument. Until then…

And what study do you have that shows black people are backwards for using the term black instead of person of color? Is it something that is widespread or just in certain locales and therefore is not applicable to the whole country? Does this take into consideration the fact that some blacks want to keep the rest of the black community at bay and prove their loyalty to the white dominated machine? Or is this your own opportunity to indulge in spreading bullshit?

Your contention that what happens in New York is only a vacuum and does not reflect what happens in the country as a whole is pretty preposterous considering the racial disparity that permeates every facet of our society. Unemployment rates in the black community, all over the country and not just in New York, perpetually exceeds the rates for the nation. Pay disparity along racial lines is a national phenomenon. There is racial disparity in our justice system and law enforcement. There is disparity in the funding of educational systems.

But you want to sit here and say there isn’t any study that supports this study that we exist with racial disparity. You don’t need a study to say a building is burning when it’s on fire. Don’t be so fucking ridiculous.

      Peace

    • Jake,

Did you know that a lot of black people including myself could give a rats ass about what some white anti racist activist circles think about the labeling of my race? In fact what gives some freaking “white” anti racist the right to tell me what label I will go by? Is that some sort of racist or white privilege antic?

And I agree with BrotherP. You had better not read… Or what? Who in the hell are you, that anyone here would care what you find out that makes you angry? I don’t think that anyone wrote this article in hopes of impressing you. How narcissistic of you.

And let your friends at the white anti racist activists circles know that they are the ones who are backwards for even ASSuming that any black person would want to return to being called colored. Because the way I see it, person of color is really no different than taking my race and making it generic. Why do we (minorities) all have to be lumped together thus removing our uniqueness? Why don’t these same white anti racist activists stop using white and call themselves people of no color?

Because, I am not some generic person of color, I AM BLACK or AFRICAN AMERICAN or a DESCENDANT OF AFRICANS. So don’t get confused into think that white people have any control over what we are or what we term ourselves. You have some kind of nerve to come here and tell some damn body that some fucking white people somewhere think we are racist for controlling our racial label. Go to hell and take your racist circle of white activists with you!

  20. Is this an anti-white site? If so, there is obviously no use in arguing.

    • Of course it’s not an anti-white site. It’s an anti-Jake and other racists like Jake site! Any comments of yours that were deleted was because I didn’t particularly care for them. And since you’ve worn out your welcome, there’s no use in posting anything else you have to say.

      Peace

    • Jake,

If you are claiming that he is censoring comments because (your words) “everyone else is right and you are wrong, right?” Now isn’t that ridiculous? Shouldn’t you be saying that if he is censoring folks wouldn’t it be because he feels that HE is right and everyone else is wrong? But of course people who don’t have the sense god gave the common donkey wouldn’t know the difference. And I guess you can’t cry because someone besides him has seen your idiotic comments.

You are right, most white people ARE racist in way or another. And so your point is? How is this site anti white? Wouldn’t there be some talk of how white people are inferior or bad based on the only fact being they are white? Isn’t that basically what anti black sites say. Blacks are inferior and bad because they are black. I guess you are just attempting to get under someone’s skin because you are obviously no longer welcomed.

And in case you didn’t know this Jake, you don’t have to be white to be racist. You don’t have to be white to be stupid, unwelcome or to have worn out your welcome. Those types of things cross all colors, creeds, religions and sexual orientations. And you still want to talk of this so called anti racist crap you belong to. All the while you and these so called anti racist white people that you yourself claim will not like the fact that we call ourselves black.

I say go and post whatever you want. The problem is that you have actually have no integrity. And you are probably right that you level of understanding and compassion for this cause makes you a racist, then you are proud to be one. Because we know damn well that people who understand very little and have so little compassion for this cause usually ARE racists and most of them are proud to be so. So if I were you, I wouldn’t really run around advertising that information, if I want to be considered anti racist.

See ya, wouldn’t want to be ya.
